Anne Frank House

Museum • Amsterdam, North Holland Netherlands

The museum is devoted to the memory of Anne Frank, a very young German diarist, who was hiding in the secret room of this house during World War II.

The museum was opened in 1960. Today, it is one of the most popular places to visit in Amsterdam. The museum (using - among others - photographs of Anne and bits of her diary) tells the story of the Nazi persecution that Anne (and the Jews in general) faced during World War II. The museum exhibitions are presented in an educative yet very interesting form.

Due to its popularity, this museum is a busy place. You might want to consider buying your tickets online in order to avoid the long ticket queues that may take up more than an hour.
