Charging Bull (or Wall Street Bull or Bowling Green Bull) is a sculpture in bronze by Italian-American artist Arturo Di Modica. It is located near Wall Street in Financial District and was meant to symbolise both those places.
It was installed in 1989 and instantly became an iconic sculpture. There are two more bull sculptures by the same author in Shanghai and Amsterdam.
The Charging Bull is a popular selfie spot for the tourists who pose in front of it or even climb it to pose on its back. Therefore it is often crowded and you might need to wait for a while before you can take a picture. Rubbing its balls and nose is a popular ritual among the tourists that should bring good luck.
